Bubble Wrap Rolls

Bubble wrap is one of the most practical and widely used protective packaging materials available. It cushions fragile items during transit, absorbs impacts and helps prevent scratches, scuffs and breakages. Our bubble wrap rolls are supplied in 100-metre lengths with 10mm small bubbles and are available in three widths to suit a range of product sizes and packing requirements.

Whether you are wrapping glassware, ceramics, electronics or other breakable goods, bubble wrap provides a reliable layer of protection between the product and the outer packaging. It is lightweight, easy to cut to size and simple to use, making it a sensible choice for both small e-commerce operations and larger despatch teams.

What Is Small Bubble Wrap Used For?

Small bubble wrap (10mm bubbles) is the standard choice for wrapping and cushioning individual items. The smaller bubbles create a tighter, more uniform surface that moulds closely around products, providing consistent protection without adding excessive bulk. This makes it particularly effective for items with flat or smooth surfaces where larger bubbles might leave gaps.

Common uses include wrapping glassware, crockery, picture frames, small electronics, cosmetics and gift items. It is also regularly used as a void-fill material inside boxes and mailing bags, where a layer of bubble wrap can prevent contents shifting during transit.

For businesses that despatch fragile products on a regular basis, keeping a roll of bubble wrap at the packing station is a straightforward way to reduce damage rates and the cost of replacements or returns.

Choosing the Right Bubble Wrap Width

Selecting the right width helps reduce waste and speed up your packing process. If the roll is too narrow, you will need multiple layers or overlapping strips. If it is too wide, you end up trimming off excess material with every cut.

The 300mm roll works well for small, compact items. It is easy to handle at a packing bench and produces minimal waste when wrapping things like mugs, bottles or small boxed products. The 500mm roll is the most versatile option and tends to be the one most businesses reach for first. It covers a broad range of product sizes without being unwieldy. The 750mm roll is best suited to larger items, or for businesses that regularly wrap products in a single sheet rather than winding the wrap around them.

Bubble Wrap vs Honeycomb Wrap

Bubble wrap and Honeycomb Wrap both provide cushioning for fragile items, but they differ in material and environmental profile. Bubble wrap is made from polyethylene film and is recyclable, though it does need to be collected separately from paper and cardboard. Honeycomb wrap is made from Kraft paper, is fully biodegradable and can be recycled alongside standard household paper.

In terms of protection, both perform well for wrapping and cushioning. Bubble wrap tends to offer slightly more impact absorption for heavier items, while honeycomb wrap is lighter and holds its shape without the need for tape. The right choice often comes down to whether reducing plastic use is a priority for your business, and whether the items you are shipping need the extra cushioning that bubble wrap provides.

Storing and Using Bubble Wrap Efficiently

Bubble wrap rolls should be stored in a dry area away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can cause the bubbles to soften over time. Keeping rolls on a dispenser or stand makes it easier to pull off and cut lengths quickly, which helps keep the packing process moving in busier despatch environments.

For the most effective protection, wrap items with the bubble side facing inward, so the cushioned surface sits against the product. One or two layers is usually sufficient for most items, though particularly fragile or heavy goods may benefit from additional wrapping or a secondary layer of protection inside the outer box.
